Project Summary

ARS was contracted to perform injection of the Klozur-CR material manufactured by FMC at a hotel parking lot in Queens NY. The groundwater was contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons leaked from a former UST. The work was completed in two phases. The first phase involved the injection of 3,060 pounds of the Klozur-CR into sixteen points near the groundwater table approximately 16’ bgs. The 2nd phase conducted 6 months later addressed a more shallow depth and entailed the injection of additional 1,980 pounds of the material through 11 points.

ARS’ compact slurry mixing/injection trailer with a built-in secondary containment came in handy for the site which had very limited work space. It also helped minimizing the generation of dust during the Klozur-CR mixing process and eliminated spills and splashes onto the well-kept parking lot and driveway.
